Designing for Active Democracy

The initiative “Demokratie leben!” needed a visual identity and communication materials that speak to a diverse audience—from young people to local institutions. The existing materials lacked consistency, emotional appeal, and a clear structure for events and projects. The challenge was to create a bold, approachable design system that strengthens visibility, increases participation, and gives the programme a recognisable voice across all channels.

I developed a fresh, vibrant visual identity that translates the programme’s values into clear, engaging communication. Flyers, social media assets, event materials and informational brochures follow a unified design system with strong colours, accessible layouts, and an inviting tone. The result is a modern, consistent toolkit that helps the initiative communicate more effectively and reach more people across the Rhein-Kreis Neuss region.
